VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL!

It's time for the "High Seas Expedition" at the FCC VBS which takes place July 25 to July 29 from
5:45-8:30pm.  The cost of $10 per child or $25 for 3 or more children from the same family, covers all the activities for the week plus a lite dinner.  Registration forms can be obtained from our church office.
On our final night, July 29th, all parents are invited to attend the "Final Night Drama".  The mission for VBS this year is to benefit Children's Hospital. 
 

LABOR DAY FAIR - SEPT. 6, 2010

First Congregational is preparing for their annual Labor Day Fair and Classic Car Show!  Prepare to enjoy a full day of family fun activities.  Enjoy live entertainment with Mark Farnsworth the DJ, clown around with Billy Bob "The" Clown, bid in our Silent and Dime Auctions, visit the Petting Farm, take a ride on a Pony or Horse, enjoy our lunch menu, have some ice cream, enjoy a baked good from our Bake Sale, walk through our Antiques and Collectibles rooms, not to mention our Giant Garage Sale!  When you finish all that venture out into our parking lot for our Classic Car Show!  Always a big hit at the fair.  If you would like to enter your car in our show or have any questions about our fair, you can call the church at 248-394-0200.  See you at the Fair!

YOUTH GROUP SUMMER ACTIVITIES

FCC's Youth Group now has summer hours:
6:00-9:00pm every Wednesday evening. 
Summer events include:

Working at Depot Park for Concert in the Park
Friday, July 23 from 5:00-9:00pm
Youth and Youth Board will be selling pizza, popcorn, pop, water and chips to benefit youth activities.
2 evenings dedicated to tye-dying Tee shirts
The MI Adventure and PJ Hoffmaster Camping Trip
Movie Night at the YAC
Cotton Candy Night
Tentatively scheduled Bowling and a Lock-In

If your high school youth is looking for some different activities for the summer have them stop by the church on Wednesday evenings.

TRYING TO EAT HEALTHY?

Looking for support in your weight loss goals?  Looking for time to exercise?  Health Nuts health group is always looking for new people!  We meet on Wednesdays at 5:00pm in the gym for a half hour walk, followed by a meeting with interesting topics and support!  If you're looking for healthy eating, walking, and fun come try us out!  If you have any questions, please contact

ACTIVITIES NIGHT!

  On the first Monday of each month from 7:00-9:00pm(???) we will be engaging in rousing games of volleyball, basketball, badminton and any other game that compels us to be active and move.    
This evening is sponsored by our Outreach Board.

 FUN AND EXERCISE!

Pickleball is now offered at the First Congregational Church through Independence Twp.  Anyone in the 50+ age group is welcome to attend this game, which is a cross between tennis and ping pong.  For just $3 ($4 for the 3 hour session) per person, come on in and get some exercise.  It is definitely becoming 'the game for to stay young'!

Tuesday evening
6:00-9:00pm
Friday morning
9:00am-12:00pm
During the summer months, July and August, the Tuesday evening schedule is the only one offered here at FCC.  Pickleball for all morning sessions is at Clintonville Park.
